Fly Fishing - East Anglia - UK
The Anglian region, notably famed for its waterways provides such a diverse habitat for fishing the choices are almost endless.
Home to The Norfolk Broads, The Great Ouse, Rutland and Grafham, and more, the fly fishing fraternity is surely spoilt for choice. With miles and miles of Broads and the luxury of The Great Ouse, then add in the reservoirs, the opportunities and choices are endless.
The largest Sea Trout caught on the Norfolk Broads, was caught entirely by accident by an unsuspecting pike angler, it weighed in at over 23lb’s.
With scenery and wildlife in abundance, the fly fisherman with an interest in bird life will be torn between fishing and bird watching.
Anglia – Rivers
The Great Ouse is the major river of the Anglian region, but others like The Nene, The Welland and The Stour hold an interest for the fly fishermen.
With Grayling, Trout and Sea Trout on offer, but as with all fishing a little research and local knowledge will prove invaluable.
Many stretches of the rivers in Anglia are set in picturesque surroundings and have plentiful wildlife and bird life to accompany you on your days fly fishing.

Anglia - Lakes & Reservoirs
Stillwater fly fisheries are plentiful in the Anglian region and offer good sport, and surroundings. In the main they are stocked with hard fighting Rainbow Trout.
The reservoirs provide a great challenge and an enjoyable days fishing, with famous reservoirs like Rutland, Eyebrook, and Grafham, to name a few.
Without a doubt, there is some top quality fly fishing to be found in this region.
With so many fly fisheries available it would be impossible to focus on them all here. But in the coming months we will try to list as many as possible in our new UK Counties - Fly Fishery Directory
