Fly Fishing - South East - UK

Fly Fishing In The South East – Chalk Springs Trout FisheryWhen travelling through the countryside of the South East of England it becomes apparent that this area offers a wide choice for the fly fishers. With such rivers as The Test, The Itchen, and The Arun, and with an abundance of lakes to choose from, the South East can hold its own in the fly fishing stakes.

Some of the famous Hampshire chalkstream's like The Test and The Itchen were fished by the now famous fly fishermen, some of whom revolutionised fly fishing, helping mould it into the sport we know today.

The glorious countryside South East provides habitat for a mass of wildlife and bird life which only adds to the pleasure when fly fishing in this area of the UK.

Within easy reach from London, the South East offers some superb fly fishing in some outstanding locations. With many stillwater's now staying open throughout the year, fly fishing opportunities are always available in the South East of England.

South East - Rivers

Fly Fishing In The South East - The River Test – World Famous ChalkstreamThe Test is probably the most well known of all chalkstream's in the UK, with a history of legendary anglers and specimen fish, it is hard to talk of fly fishing history in the UK without this famous chalkstream being mentioned.

The South East has other rivers that offer fly fishing, with species ranging from Brown Trout, Grayling and Salmon, the occasional Rainbow Trout will also give a nice surprise, which although not native, would probably be an escapee from the many Stillwater fisheries on offer to the fly fisher in this area.
