Fly Fishing - South West - UK
Fly fishing in the South West of England has plenty to offer the visiting fly fishermen, with rivers, reservoirs and a huge array of stillwater's. The species on offer include wild Brown Trout, Salmon, Sea Trout Grayling and the Rainbow Trout.
Many of the fly fisheries are set in lush green countryside, and due to the semi tropical climate enjoyed in some parts, (the effects of the Gulf Stream) it is possible to find some flora and fauna that is exclusive to this part of the English countryside.
The South West also offers fly fishing for wild Brown Trout on some of the smaller rivers of the moors, a truly remarkable, lonely and yet humbling location; the moors have a tranquility and serenity of their own.
South West England - Rivers
The many rivers of the South West can offer good sport for the fly fisher, and with miles and miles of tributaries, there is always a scenic and peaceful place to fish.
The Hampshire Avon for example is famed for its fly fishing, here you will find beats and pools that were fished by some of the now legendary anglers in bygone years.
